Mandatory for all Pitman band students!

  • Monday (July 30) 
    • 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (9th grade and new band students)
    • 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM (returning band students)
  • Tuesday-Thursday (July 31 through August 2)
    • 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM (all band students)

Just like sport teams getting in shape for the upcoming playing season, band students need to prep for marching season. During the week, students begin to learn how to march in a parade block which includes how to move your feet, how to find your position in line, and how to keep time while marching. They also learn the march music and pep music in instrument sectional groups and then with the entire band.

Students should wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Mornings are typically spent marching around the Pitman parking lot and as the temperature rises rehearsals will move inside.

Students should bring WATER, lunch, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats.

BBQ lunch will be provided by the Band Boosters on Thursday, August 2nd and one afternoon during the week we will have a cool treat fundraiser.
